I’m not sure what it is, but many in my world are experiencing some really big challenges, and 2023 hasn’t gotten off to the greatest start. This first week has brought death of loved ones, significant and stressful changes in the work place, post holiday stress and fatigue, illness, and injury. I have witnessed and/or experienced all of these things this week.
As 2023 launches and everyone is approaching life with new energy, remember to stay grounded. Set big goals for yourself, but remember to break them down into baby steps that set a foundation for success. It's funny how we always celebrate a baby's first steps, but when we become adults, we sometimes lose our perspective and bite off more than we can chew. If you're building into running marathon distances or more, celebrate each mile you are able to run without stopping...1, 2, 3, 4, ..12......celebrate each one. Respect this process. Listen to your body. Don't push too fast. As the birthdays continue to come and go, I know that resistance training is critical to keep me running roads and trails in the coming years. I don't always enjoy resistance training, but I celebrate each rep knowing that I am investing in the future. And a future of being able to run is a pretty big deal to me. #respecttheprocess #enjoythejourney #newyear #newyearresolutions #liftheavyshit #resistancetrainingforwomen #resistancetrainingforrunners #physicaltherapy
